The city of the lost trees
It is a research project that seeks to highlight a problem that affects ecosystems, fauna and communities in the city of Santa Marta and its surroundings.
The overexploitation of resources, such as the illegal burning of forests for the commercialization of charcoal, is causing irreparable damage to these biomes.
The project “The city of the lost trees” consists of an experimental process in which through different formats, various forms of reconstruction are proposed from charcoal, as a symbolic way of recovering these ecosystems through plastic arts. Drawing, painting and installation are some of the languages proposed for the exhibition, as means to mold and transform the material once again into landscapes, trees and ecosystems.
